  Û Ý      Û  want to re-phrase it and say "go, little song, go."    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  See, to me, songs have lives of their own, (the good   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  ones at any rate): they spin their webs and catch      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  moments, memories, emotions, and people too. Some      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  songs are small and shy like a nervous [CENSORED] that      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  suddenly breaks into a smile when you least expect,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and some bully you into submission or knock you out    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  straight up. Some you don't hear from for ages, and    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  then you meet them again one day and you are pleased   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  to see they have grown up ok and aren't stealing from  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  grandmothers or selling you insurance. Or asking you   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  to vote for them.                                      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û                                                         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  I am only telling you all this because it's the only   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  way I can tell you about me. I guess you want to know  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  about where I grew up and how terrible my [CENSORED]hood    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  was and yes, my parents never understood me and no,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  the world doesn't either, and why there's nobody else  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  like me and just how great I am. But I ain't gonna,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  because it's a somewhat pointless exercise and         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  nothing I can tell you will make you love me any more  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  or less. But I can sing every song off Stevie          Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Wonder's Talking Book and recite lyrics verbatim from  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Joni's Blue. I love Steely Dan so much that I even     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  spent hours learning the guitar solo from Reeling in   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  the Years.....very slowly though.                      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û                                                         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  I have family. They're good, not too weird, and        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  scattered over many continents. The same goes for my   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  friends. I got to live in India for a bit as a kid,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and there was no FM radio there back then. But there   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  was Michael Jackson, and the first record I can        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  remember really wanting to own was Thriller, and I     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  saved up for it and salivated over the gatefold        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  sleeve and honestly thought it was ok to have a        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  monkey for a best friend. One day, a piano arrived in  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  our home and I took up residence at, on, and           Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  literally in it. I only ventured out to roller skate   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  to Ravel's Bolero and to buy my first guitar with my   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  pocket money when I was 11. I desperately wanted my    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  mother to be a pushy stage mother, but she was         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  acutely aware of what happened to Tiffany, and would   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  rather I learnt Bobbie Gentry songs.                   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û                                                         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  So, if the only encouragement I was going to get at    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  home involved my mother's country record collection    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and her burgeoning Ravi Shankar library (it reminded   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  her of home, it reminded everybody else of the local   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Indian restaurant), I was going to have to find rock   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and roll somewhere else. It arrived when I was 12      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  years old, her name was Elvira, her folks were like,   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  totally bohemian, and after a few years she worked     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  her magic on me and I found my mojo. Well, kind of. I  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  became obsessed with Bon Jovi and the Stone Roses.     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  But while I strummed along to Living on a Prayer       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  (which I still maintain is a perfect pop song), I      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  also decided to give my parent's record collection     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  one last chance, and it was a good job too. It         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  yielded a couple of gems: Simon and Garfunkel's        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Greatest Hits and Carole King's Tapestry. I thought    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Paul Simon should win a Nobel prize for the lines      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  "still a man hears what he wants to hear and           Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  disregards the rest" (The Boxer). And I liked Carole   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  King because a lot of her songs were in easy keys and  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  she had a kind of funny voice too which made me feel   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  better about my own. I didn't really know what it      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  meant to sing "there'll be good times again for me     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and you", because I was a kid, but I kind of know now  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and I love her all the more because of it.             Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û                                                         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Cut to the chase, I ditch the glasses, the braces,     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  the knee high socks and I emerge, butterfly like, and  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  fly off from my little island in the English           Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  channel...... And land, courtesy of a scholarship, in  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  a forbidding English boarding school. Wide eyed,       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  socially inept and by now playing violin and singing   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  opera too. After the pressure cooker of being a        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  musical wunderkind, I move to London and enroll in     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  art college. Everybody was stoned, which was fun for   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  a while, but I could only listen to The Doors so much  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and after 5 all night readings of On the Road I was    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  ready to go back to music school. Here, I continued    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  studying classical piano and singing, although         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  eventually putting my violin back in its case after    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  deciding cello players had way more fun and I wanted   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  some of that. I found that while I loved writing       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  songs at the piano, those old country records I        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  reluctantly grew up listening to had crept in          Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  somewhere and I could only get that feeling if I       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  wrote on guitar. On my travels I spied a Hofner bass,  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  and decided if I had that I would almost certainly     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  want to play every day. That was one long summer       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  spent indoors listening to the White Album over and    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  over and slowly picking out McCartney's unbelievable   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  playing on Sexy Sadie. (It's ok, it mostly rains in    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  the great British summer, so I wasn't so unhappy to    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  be inside.....)                                        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û                                                         Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  And then one day I woke up and I was in the real       Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  world, with a proper job (ok, not that proper, it was  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  at a record company) working for Mr King. He warned    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  me against dabbling with the devil that is the major   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  label, (he even threatened to break someone's legs on  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  my behalf), but I carried on regardless and made a     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  record with a very ridiculous title and some even      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  more questionable photographic evidence. This          Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  experience taught me many things, but especially that  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  it is never a good idea to make a video in which you   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  fly.                                                   Û       ÝÛ

  Û Ý      Û  Which is where Sophia comes in. I wrote it around the  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  time I went back to university in London, where I      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  have been learning to love learning, and how to find   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  the words to sing about what we talk about when we     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  talk about love. Being as balefully pessimistic as I   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  am (all my self help hippy dippy affirmations          Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  notwithstanding), I am now on my second 'Gap' year,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  as after deferring for one year to see how things      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  went, the sky did not fall. And, as the end of the     Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  world was not nigh a few months ago, I deferred        Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  again. Things were not a disaster. In fact, when my    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  second album 'Fires' was released in April 2005, the   Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  press did not send me dog poo in the post and there    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  was not a resounding silence on the radio stations of  Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  Great Britain. (Listen, no one was more surprised      Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  than I, so this is no blowing of personal trumpets,    Û       ÝÛ
  Û Ý      Û  okay?) People seemed to - shock!horror! – quite like   Û       ÝÛ

 Legacy's Story of the Blues compilation is a noble project whose results are understandably flawed. It should have been titled "The Story of the Blues According to Columbia and Its Subsidiary Labels." As an LP set issued in 1970, the collection was designed as an aural illustration to Paul Oliver's fine book of the same title and was revised and republished in 1997. Oliver's liner notes accompany this package. The original LPs were sequenced and divided by four topics: "The Origin of the Blues," "Blues & Entertainment," "This Thirties, Urban & Rural Blues," and "World War II and After." 
 
 The music here ranges from Blind Lemon Jefferson's "Black Snake Moan," Texas Alexander's "Broken Yo-Yo," and Charley Patton's "Stone Pony Blues," through Bessie Smith's "In the House Blues," Lillian Glinn's "Shake It Down," and Leadbelly's "Pigmeat." Along the way you are treated to both great blues standards such as John Hurt's "Stagger Lee" and Robert Johnson's "Little Queen of Spades" and tracks by Bo Carter, Memphis Minnie, the Memphis Jug Band, Faber Smith & Jimmy Yancery, Bukka White, Leroy Carr & Scrapper Blackwell, Peetie Wheatstraw, and other less-known luminaries who contributed significantly to the development of the blues canon -- Butterbeans & Susie and of course Casey Bill & Black Bob. 
 
 There are stunning tracks here such as the Mississippi Jook Band's "Dangerous Woman," Bertha Hill's "Pratt City Blues," and Peg Leg Howell's "Broke and Hungry Blues." There is plenty of quiet and raucous revelation here. But the real jarring experience comes on disc two. Here, the final topic selection, "World War II and After," yields a huge jump not only in style as the blues became more urban, but in perception and elocution. From Blind Boy Fuller, Sonny Terry, Lightnin' Hopkins, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Sonny Boy Williamson, Big Bill Broonzy, Willie Dixon, and Muddy Waters come explosions of pure blues fire -- music made quickly, cheaply, and full of outrageous sass, spit, and courage. And in the latter half of the disc the so-called relatives or inheritors of the blues legacy have their say, rounding out the picture: Santana's "Black Magic Woman," Janis Joplin's "One Good Man," Bob Dylan's "Cry a While," Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Texas Flood," Taj Mahal's folk-blues, K!  eb' Mo''s Vegas version of Delta blues, the Electric Flag's Johnny Winter covering Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisted," Jeff Beck's "Superstitious," and even Little Axe's "Ride On." 
 
 So there's plenty of history here, but not a story. The record, given that it only serves up tracks from the Columbia vaults, doesn't begin to tell the same story as Oliver's book. It rambles and represents performers, but it doesn't give any kind of linear narrative regarding the story of the music. It feels like a disjointed if pleasurable collection that will ask more questions than it answers.

 After Epoch of Unlight's innovative debut "What Will Be Has Been", the follow-up 
 "Caught in the Unlight" didn't quite live up to my expectations. But with the 
 release of "The Continuum Hypothesis" the band has corrected the misstep and 
 taken yet a further step forward. All 11 tracks feature stunning musicianship, 
 original soundscapes, and captivating melodies, cycling through countless 
 unpredictable transitions and layered upon a tireless rhythmic commotion.
 
 EoU's sound is a bit like Gothenburg metal run one time through a meat grinder. 
 The chaos derives from twin guitar tracks, split full left and right in the mix, 
 apparently both laid down by Josh Braddock. The interplay between the two is 
 phenomenal, whether working together to craft vivid harmonies, or trading off 
 phrases in a mad syncopation. Tino LoSicco's drumming is both energetic and 
 nuanced, as he seems to draw from an infinite set of drum patterns and riffs. 
 EoU no longer feature dual vocals trading off as in their first album; BJ Cook 
 supplies the more conventional single vocal track, abrasive but understandable, 
 with a relatively high-pitched snarl.
 
 "Argentum Era Secui Duos" is a remake of "Silver Mistress", a memorable 
 riff-laden track from their debut album. "The End of All" showcases a great 
 variety of musical devices EoU can deliver capably -- with dual guitars 
 combining to create effects ranging from bright sustained harmonies to dark 
 stacatto riffs, plus an extended guitar solo, hyper fast drumming, and a linear 
 song structure full of unexpected turns.
 
 The album teeters on the brink of chaos at times, but always rescues the 
 listener by returning to a riff that's catchy and familiar. The Continuum 
 Hypothesis is an engaging piece of art.

 Spitting blackness deserving of the group's moniker, Epoch Of Unlight undertake 
 an evil trip through astral planes with 'The Continuum Hypothesis.
 
 Severe blasts of hatred bringing forth invocations of unthinkable proportions. 
 Gravel barks issue dark utterances over chugging, technical, thrashing black 
 death. 'Highgate' walks the path of Samael, featuring a wicked riff and chaotic 
 blast drumming. 
 
 Epoch imparts a feeling of old style thrashing death while utilizing tightly 
 compressed rhythms and British axe tones to fashion a sound that will remain 
 credible with underground devotees, but contains songwriting of a quality that 
 will be welcomed by any metal fan with a taste for extreme vocals. Start-stop 
 song parts feed the band's complex arrangements as well. 
 
 There is a degree of technicality that is not always focused on speed, however 
 moving through scales and key changes in extremely complicated patterns. 
 
 This album is an abrasive crush of blackness throughout each of its eleven 
 tracks. Step into the Unlight...

 Recorded an EP entitled "Kvlt ov Khaos" in 2003.
 
 Originally started out as a one man band with Goathman being the only member. 
 Between 1995-2001 he took a break from Goathemy. In 2001 he met up with his 
 younger brother Mr. Thing aka Janne Ruohoniemi and went back to Goathemy.
 
 The band has also expressed that, since they have Dark for the clean female 
 vocals they will not be using synths.
 
 Goath and Mr Thing have founded a record label entitled "Rebellion Bros 
 Records". The first release for the label will be the Goathemy debut CD.
 
 Goathemy's second album "Torn" was recorded and mastered at the end of 2007 and 
 was at first also scheduled to be released at that time but was delayed. The 
 album will be released within the year 2008 in Finland. However the band is also 
 looking for a distribution deal to release "Torn" outside of Finland.
